I am posing this here cause I know someone will complain:

Ok…. in the same regard as Damaris posted about

Wasn't it decided a while back that Casting Calls were to be Forum Only ?

If the purpose of these forums or the Freeform Yahoo Group was to null out chatter and keep the BSea lines clear for BSea events, why move Casting Calls to an area that those with screen readers cannot access as was discussed a while back?

Why don't I just check the forums more? Do you see that thing called a post count under the picture to your upper left ? Yeah one post. I don't really like visiting forums much, mostly I forget to. I have a really bad memory that a close rl friend of mine can attest to.

yes, receiving all those messages on Yahoo was a pain for me. It's why I switched to GMail and I haven't looked back since. I use it for both my groups AND personal use just fine.

The idea to post Casting Calls only on the forum was never implemented after it was revealed that screen readers could not process the information on forums, and Brokensea had no wish to discriminate against the visually impaired in their auditions.  This is evident in the Doctor Who casting call which was posted via the mail list just this last weekend.

Instead most BSAP Casting Directors who now put out casting calls use both, or just use the list – but it is precisely so that such important Calls are not missed in the flood of email that excessive OT chit chat is requested to be ultimately directed here.  There are RSS feed options as well as email notification settings to let you know what's happening on the forum for those who aren't at leisure to haunt them.

(Please note also, that whilst technically a moderator, my post count isn't high either Colin.  Not saying a lot doesn't equate to having nothing worth saying.  Laughing)

Ok…. then there is always the option to make the Y Group Moderated to somewhat cut out the clutter (emails would have to be approved first) or even an announce only to where only the owner and Moderators can post.

Either of these options would be much simpiler then people practically yelling at other people 5+ times a week to use the forums. I am using the forums now cause, as I said, I am tired of seeing the “hey this would be great over at the forums”, “Why not post that on the forums?”, “Hey you know we have a forum?”

Yeah I know theree is one (I'm here aren't I?), but I prefer my main mode of direct conversation to be done through email. Prime example why: I posted at, from what the time/date stamp says, 5:32 Pm. You responded almost 4.5 hours later. How is that faster or more practical than email?

In the email, under the Steelers thing, April posted at 7:18 PM my time and you responded at 8:02 PM. So it's 42 minutes vs 4.5 hours…..

What is my point and why does this whole thing piss me off? I'm getting there. I'm on roughly 12 diffrent groups, and on all of them it's practically all the same issue: trim your posts, cut back on emails, ect. I'm sick and tired of THOSE emails hitting my inbox despite the fact I have GMail. You want to know how many emails I HAVEN'T read and just stored away in my Archives ? Hundreds. I cannot begin to count the tons of useless conversations that have no relevance to me that come accross my inbox from ModernAudioDrama, VoiceActorsnited, and Voiceovers.

Almost every email system, including Outlook and Yahoo, and I'm sure tons of others can be set up to where only certian emails hit the inbox. I know both Outlook and GMail is capable of being set up so only emails like “Casting Call:” will go to the inbox and the other will go to the folder or label that was set up for them to go into. Why don't people do this? Cause people would rather take more time out of their day to complain about their email instead of finding a solution to the issue.
