We are a keen group of audio drama fanatics who create podcast and free download stories in audio format.Included in our line up is original fantasy, sci-fi, horror, drama, comedy and fan-works and audio versions of great films (like Planet of the Apes and Logans Run)
We are always looking for new members who are interested in getting involved or just hanging out with us and joining the discussion on our various projects.
WHERE DID THE NAME “BROKEN SEA” COME FROM?
Back in 2006 Bill Hollweg and I(Paul Mannering) started talking about doing a comic book together. The comic was a dark fantasy story around a barbarian character called SHUN. I was writing it, Bill did some art (we have the first page and its fantastic). One element of this story was “The Broken Sea.” This was an area of icy wasteland and sea ice which had to be crossed to reach the climactic battle with the forces of evil.
“BrokenSea” became a symbol of our dream to break out of the common mould of audio drama. To make new stories and shows that were cutting edge and open to the possibilities of pure imagination.

Usually, I’d stay away from movie adaptations, but just from the descriptions you’ve got for PLANET OF THE APES, it’s clear that you’re not doing some slavish rehashing at all! I’m looking forward to listening to it, but you seem to be missing its very first installment, which I guess would be “Episode 1: Chapter 0″ or “Episode 1: Prologue”. Will that be added soon?

I came across your (ace) site whilst researching my own, so I thought I would seize the opportunity to introduce us here at The Wireless Theatre Company, as you have similar interest, you might just fancy visiting us.
http://www.wirelesstheatrecompany.co.uk – here we produce audio plays, comedy sketches, poems, short stories and more to be downloaded to peoples’ iPods, MP3 players, desktops and mobile phones direct from the site, for FREE - no registering, no payment, just click on the download button and enjoy the drama! This brings radio drama to the kids with the iPods, and gets older generations to enjoy the world wide web and keep this wonderful medium alive.
We launched in June, and have already had 100,000 hits, with over a thousand unique users a month, and people downloading our plays from all over the world - which we’re pretty happy with! We plan next, to do a Season of Shakespeare so audio drama can be used in schools as a learning tool as well as continuing to support and produce new writing.
Please do have a browse around the site and have a listen to the great stuff we have on there already, we are open to any suggestions, feedback or indeed donations!
